Sanda Rama Monastic School is the recipient of an MCF grant to pay costs of training its monastic school staff in English language and teaching skills for the school years 2018-2020. It is part of a larger project to improve English proficiency, and therefore access to higher education and improved job skills for graduates. Situated in Hlaing Tharya Township, Yangon, Head Monk Ashin Sanda Wara aims to gain government permission to add grades 9-11 to its curriculum soon. The project also offers English language training for young learners throughout the school year.
